My grandparents David and Shoshanah (Rose) were born in Palestine of parents who came from Romania and Ukraine in the 1880s. They migrated to Australia in 1927.

In Australia, Rose and David Bookchester lived in Melbourne and Stawell, Victoria. Rose was a seamstress and David ran a fruit shop. David took his life in 1935 and Rose passed away in 1969.
